Will Windows Phone Take the Second Place in Smartphone Market by 2015?!
Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7, since launched six months ago (May, 2011), still hasn’t picked up its sales in the market. According to Gartner, an international market research institute, only 1.6 million Windows Phones were sold in 1H11.
IDC’s report estimates that the smartphone shipment in 2011 will reach 450 million units, up from 330.4 million units in 2010. Based on a smartphone market share predictor, in 2011, Android will likely take the lead, taking up 39.5% of the market share, followed by Symbian, 20.9% . iOS will probably come into the third place, with 15.7% and Blackberry into the forth, with 14.9%.
