Samsung has announced they are cutting the price of their Galaxy SII phone. The Galaxy SII dropped in price by £70 to £429.49. This price drop has rumors floating that Samsung is preparing a rival launch, to coincide with the iPhone 5 launch in September.
The Samsung Galaxy SII was already viewed as a strong rival to the iPhone series due to its blazing fast 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, and 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen. The best-selling phone also boasts 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and great battery-life.
Samsung isn't alone in its aspirations to be have the top smartphone. Both HTC and LG plan to release their own 3D smartphones around July. The HTC Evo 3D and LG's Optimus 3D, will allow users to record 3D videos or pictures, and play them back on the phone itself or a 3D capable TV. The 3D effect used by the smartphone is the same glasses-free 3D used by the Nintendo 3DS.
The price for the HTC Evo 3D is still unknown. However, the specs are similar to HTC Sensation. Although it's tough to say, odds are the HTC Evo 3D will be priced close to the HTC Sensation.
